Cosmetic bonding is a conservative and easy way to enhance your smile in one appointment.

Cosmetic bonding can be used to improve the appearance of stained, uneven, chipped, worn or discoloured front teeth. Small gaps between teeth can also be improved, for a natural-looking smile.

Your dentist will discuss with you your desired outcomes, and use smile design principals to create beautiful natural looking teeth. This can be done using a template or freehand depending on the complexity of the work required.

Your dentist will prepare the surface of the teeth to be treated. A tooth-coloured composite resin is applied to the surface of the front teeth without the need for local anaesthetic.

Hardened under ultra-violet light, the resin is then shaped and polished to match the surrounding teeth. It is a fast procedure with reliable results.

We find many patients benefit from composite bonding as it preserves your natural tooth structure and can be effectively used in combination with tooth straightening and/or tooth whitening for best results.

How long do the effects of cosmetic bonding last?

With regular care, you can expect the effects to last several years before you may wish to have it replaced. If Damaged the resin surface treatment can be easily repaired or replaced.

Sometimes patients will opt to progress to ceramic veneers at a later date.
